Who we are
Whettle is run by Tim Cawood and is part of Cawood Innovation Ltd, which is also the parent of Cawood, Tim's other business. Cawood Innovation Ltd is responsible for any personal information you give us. If you have a question about it, email tim@whettle.co.uk.
What we collect
- When you use the contact form: your name, email address and message, your business name and phone number if you add them, and the address of the page you sent it from.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to send.
- When you visit: our host, Cloudflare, handles technical details such as your IP address so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use these to work out who you are.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. If that ever changes, we'll ask you first and update this notice.
Why we use it
To reply to you, and if you decide to go ahead, to quote for the work and get it started. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch, or the steps you ask us to take before a contract. We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to.
Who handles it for us
- HubSpot stores contact form messages and our contact records, in its EU data centre. The same HubSpot account is used by Cawood, our sister business in the same group; your enquiry is marked as a Whettle enquiry and used only for that.
- Microsoft runs our email, through Microsoft 365.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it's protected by the safeguards UK law requires. We never sell your information or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to two years after we last hear from you. If you become a client, we keep what we need to do the work, and our records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, limit or object to how we use it, or have a copy to take elsewhere. Email tim@whettle.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date above.
